From dining options to spots for recreation, Northeast San Antonio’s 2025 business openings have brought new opportunities to local residents.

Here are 10 new business openings in 2025 from Community Impact's coverage of the metrocom.

True Texas BBQ

True Texas BBQ opened inside H-E-B's Schertz location at 17640 I-35 N. on May 7. The barbecue restaurant—which has 40 locations throughout Texas—sells a range of meats including prime brisket, St. Louis pork ribs, turkey breast, sauced pulled pork and pork sausage link.La Finca Tex-Mex Restaurant

La Finca Tex-Mex Restaurant opened in Universal City at 1421 Pat Booker Road on July 23, according to the restaurant's Facebook page. The restaurant, taking the place of previous tenant La Fiesta Patio Cafe, is owned by Gerardo Morin, who also worked as a chef at La Fiesta.


The La Finca menu includes taco and enchilada plates with rice and beans, as well as specials such as a tostada plate deal on Thursdays, according to the restaurant's social media.Grill House Burgers

Grill House Burgers opened in Universal City at 3142 Pat Booker Road, Ste. 150, on Sept. 15.

Grill House Burgers serve hamburgers, sandwiches and cheesesteaks, along with wraps, salad bowls and chicken wings. The restaurant also offers milkshakes and soft serve ice cream.

The restaurant chain opened within the Cibolo Crossing shopping center at 18384 I-35 N., Ste. 101 on May 12.


This is the chain's first location in the Northeast San Antonio area, and is the first Salata location overall to have a separate kitchen available for online orders only, Catering Sales Manager Maris Watson said. Salata sells wraps, build-to-order salads and teas.Texas Pickle Hall

Texas Pickle Hall offers 28,700 square feet of playing space and features 12 courts. The hall also has a climate control system with air purification. Texas Pickle Hall's Chief Operating Officer Alexander Komet said courts are open to the public and there are also membership options that include competitions, lessons and more.A Chicago Bite

A Chicago Bite—located at 820 Main St. in Schertz—celebrated its opening with a ribbon cutting on Sept. 24. The restaurant is owned by Krystal Cross, who previously operated A Chicago Bite out of a food truck in Cibolo.

The restaurant is dedicated to the city and serves classic Chicagoan meals like The Original Chicago Dog. Cross said she is from Chicago and all the food served at the restaurant is authentic. A Chicago Bite also serves fried catfish, wings, burgers and pizza puffs.Panera Bread


Panera Bread opened at 18406 I-35 N., Ste. 700, in Schertz on Oct. 20. The fast-casual restaurant serves sandwiches, soups and salads alongside drinks like signature teas and lemonades.Schertz Family YMCA pilates reformer studio

The Schertz Family YMCA, located at 621 Westchester Drive, began offering Pilates classes at its new Pilates reformer studio on Jan. 20.

Pilates is a form of exercise that helps build strength from the center of the body by improving balance, posture and core strength, according to a news release.

Compared to traditional DICK’S Sporting Goods storefronts, the new House of Sport superstore is much larger at 100,000 square feet with two stories.

These special locations include interactive recreational activities such as a rock climbing wall, golf simulators, batting cages and more, according to the store’s website.Crepeccino

Crepeccino opened on Sept. 13 at 857 Cibolo Valley Drive, Ste. 208. This is the coffee shop's second location in the region, with another located at 5500 Babcock Road, Ste. 104, in San Antonio proper.

Crepeccino specializes in homemade crepes and waffles. The eatery also offers an assortment of specialty coffees and savory sandwiches.
