A new 46,000-square-foot indoor pickleball center is coming soon to Live Oak.

The details

The center—named The Picklr—is planned to open in early January at 7517 Loop 1604, Ste. 35, franchise owner James Speer told Community Impact.

“If everything goes right with construction, we’re hoping for that time frame,” Speer said.

The Picklr has 17 other locations scattered throughout Texas, according to its website.

Speer said the Live Oak location will have:
  • 13 pickleball courts
  • A pro shop
  • A private event area
  • League play
  • Tournaments and drop-in play
  • Court reservations
  • Locker rooms and showers
The Live Oak location will also have a ball machine.

There will also be an adaptive court for those with physical disabilities and the use of wheelchairs.

“Members in wheelchairs are going to have a bigger court for accessibility,” Speer said. "We want this to be a place for all levels of competition."

An artificial intelligence coaching system called Wingfield will also be available for future members, along with lessons from professional players.

“It uses cameras around the court and gives you instant feedback on your game,” Speer said. "It can really help members improve."
