A new economic grant in Cibolo now has its first recipients, according to a city news release.

The local impact

On Oct. 24, city staff announced that five local businesses have received improvements via the Economic Development Growth and Expansion, or EDGE, grant.

The grant, launched July 1 by the Cibolo Economic Development Corporation, provides matching funds on eligible projects such as building improvements and equipment purchases, the news release states.

Projects aided by the grant were:

• New signs and tenant finish out at Crust Pizza Co. at 813 Cibolo Valley Drive, Ste. 170
• Tenant finishes at Zen Bubble at 2451 FM 1103, Ste. 137
• Tenant finishes at Top Tier Hair & Beauty Supply at 2451 FM 1103, Ste. 141
• Energy saving improvements and HVAC upgrades at Grampie’s Pizzeria at 121 Cibolo Commons, Ste. 101
• New signs at Puppy Kisses Pawlor at 121 Cibolo Commons, Ste. 117

“The EDGE Grant is one of our most effective tools for encouraging investment and reinvestments to support our businesses,” Economic Development Manager Clancy Hardin said in the news release.
