A new driving school is now open in Northeast San Antonio.

SafeWay Driving opened at the H-E-B in Schertz, next to the H-E-B Fuel gas pumps at 17460 I-35 N. on Sept. 24, according to a news release.
The driving program combines an online course with behind-the-wheel instruction from trained experts. Each training vehicle is equipped with a right-side driver trainer brake and accelerator, as well as dash cams and GPS tracking, the release states.

SafeWay Driving is operated by Schertz resident Bryan Nugent, who said he has witnessed the importance of driver education as the father to two teenagers.
"There’s nothing I wouldn’t give to ensure my children are as safe as possible on the roads. I love watching a student gain the confidence and skills needed to safely navigate our roads and the independence that comes with that,” Nugent said in the release.
