The Cibolo Economic Development Corporation launched its Economic Development for Growth & Enhancement, or EDGE, Grant Program on July 1.
What you need to know
The grant program, according to a news release, offers reimbursement-based matching grants up to $15,000, eligible for commercial property enhancement.
Eligible items under the grant include facade upgrades, signage, exterior construction, lighting, parking improvements and demolition of abandoned structures according to the city.
Grants will be matched for existing or new businesses within Cibolo city limits, excluding businesses in the Old Town District or FM 78 Corridor. Grants are matched up to 50% of total project costs up to $15,000 per address, per fiscal year.
CEDC Board Director Derek Ottman said economic development was about removing roadblocks and encouraging growth in the community.
“The new EDGE grant developed by the CEDC gives our leaders the ability to help keep small businesses in Cibolo and bring new businesses to our community,” Ottman said in the release.
