San Antonio-area school systems are set to reopen campuses and offices Feb. 2 as the National Weather Service forecasts a warm-up towards the end of the week.

Officials from North East and Northside ISDs said they plan to have a regular schedule of classes and services Feb. 2, although personnel at each district will drive local roads before dawn and announce any changes by 5 a.m.

Other local school districts as well as local colleges and universities said they planned to resume on-site classes and services on Feb. 2.

CPS Energy officials said the utility company stayed busy throughout Feb. 1, responding to more than 125 outages around the San Antonio area. One power outage affected as many as 45,000 customers, with officials attributing most outages to trees and tree branches caused by ice buildup.

The weather service still had a winter storm warning active until 6 a.m. Feb. 2, as local temperatures are expected to hit a high of 50 degrees, and overcast skies are forecasted to give way to partly sunny conditions.
