The owner of Curry Boys BBQ near downtown San Antonio recently confirmed plans to open a second location, this time in Stone Oak.

In a nutshell

Andrew Ho, owner and chef at Curry Boys BBQ, where the menu is focused on fusing South Texan and Southeast Asian cuisine, said in a May appearance on a local television news show that a second Curry Boys BBQ will be developed at 19903 Stone Oak Parkway, Ste. 101.

Ho said the original Curry Boys eatery, which sits along North St. Mary’s Street in Tobin Hill, has developed a following in the nearly four years that the restaurant has been open.

What else?

Ho said he is eager to expand the Curry Boys customer base further into north San Antonio. Their menu features bowls filled with smoked brisket, chicken or sausage mixed with curry, which comes in different varieties.

Ho and his fellow chefs and business partners Andrew Samia and Sean Wen were collectively nominated as a 2024 semifinalist for a James Beard Award for Best Texas Chef. The James Beard Foundation’s Restaurant and Chef Awards recognize talent and achievement in the culinary arts nationwide.

Ho has not announced an opening date for the Stone Oak location of Curry Boys BBQ, which will replace Tacos Don Manolito.

As for Tacos Don Manolito, the owners of the first U.S. location for the Mexico City-born taqueria took to social media in April to announce they will relocate their restaurant, but have yet to share more details.
