A San Antonio brewpub and an Irish pub both opened on the edges of downtown San Antonio.

Francis Bogside

Francis Bogside, an Irish gastropub that opened on South St. Mary’s Street in 2015, has relocated to 1170 E. Commerce St., Ste. 100, in St. Paul’s Square, on the city’s near east side.

Having held a grand opening event June 23, Francis Bogside offers a food menu that includes fish and chips, lobster mac and cheese, chicken wings, cauliflower Parmesan pasta, and green curry with steamed rice.

Francis Bogside has a full bar with traditional and signature cocktails, craft beer and wine. The pub also has brunch service noon-3 p.m. every Sunday, and live music and DJs each weekend.



Hours of operation are Tue.-Wed. 4 p.m.-midnight, Thu.-Sat. 4 p.m.-2 a.m., Sun. noon-midnight and Mon. closed.

Künstler Tap Haus

Officials with Künstler Brewing, based south of downtown, opened Künstler Tap Haus on June 4 in Hemisfair.


Künstler Tap Haus is located in the historic Pereida House, a renovated 1880s-era structure at 510 S. Alamo St. Künstler Tap Haus offers some of the food and beer menu items available at the flagship brewery, including a small selection of hot dogs and bratwursts, beers that are lower in alcohol content, cocktails, and wine.

Hours of operation are Mon.-Fri. noon-9 p.m., Sat. 11 a.m.-9 p.m. and Sun 11 a.m.-8 p.m.
