Chicken Salad Chicken, a national chain of fast-casual chicken salad restaurants, said Jan. 31 it will open San Antonio’s first location Feb. 8 in Stone Oak.
The San Antonio storefront with a drive-thru is due to open at 7 a.m. at 22831 N. U.S. 281, offering free chicken salad for a year to the first 100 guests, a news release said.
According to the release, those initial 100 diners will receive one large Quick Chick of chicken salad per month for an entire year with one of those customers randomly selected to win one large Quick Chick of chicken salad per week.
The release said there will be other giveaways during grand opening week, including Feb. 9, when the first 50 guests to purchase a Chick Trio will receive a free Chicken Salad Chick tote bag.
On Feb. 10, the first 50 diners to buy a Chick Special will receive a free small Chick Cooler.
On Feb. 11, the first 50 customers to purchase two Large Quick Chicks will receive a free large Chicken Salad Chick Cooler.
Local franchise industry veterans James Oberg, Jeff Rochelle and George Shaw are overseeing Chicken Salad Chick's expansion into the San Antonio area. Oberg, Rochelle and Shaw spearheaded the expansion of Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers into the San Antonio market years ago, the release said.
“We are thrilled to introduce this unique concept to San Antonio. In fact, we love Chicken Salad Chick so much, we already have our second location in Westover Hills opening in just a few weeks and have plans for more,” Oberg said in a statement.
Seeking to give back to the community, Chicken Salad Chick San Antonio will be raising funds for The Children's Hospital of San Antonio Foundation during a “Friends and Family” preopening event, the release said.
Chicken Salad Chick in San Antonio will be open 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Mondays-Saturdays and will be closed Sundays. www.chickensaladchick.com
