A Mexican-inspired cafe and bakery has officially unveiled its newest location in the San Antonio metro.

What’s happening

La Panadería Bakery Café held a grand opening for the new eatery on Dec. 17. The restaurant is located in the Stone Oak area at 1011 N. Loop 1604 E.

“Stone Oak is a vibrant and growing area, and we’re excited to bring La Panadería to a new part of the city,” Owner Jose Cáceres said in a news release.

The context

This new bakery is the local chain’s 5th overall location in the San Antonio area, with others scattered across downtown, the west side and near Fiesta Texas, according to their website.

It’s also the largest location in the chain—clocking in at over 6,600 square feet and featuring over 100 parking spaces for guests. The project cost approximately $3.5 million to construct, according to the news release.

Additionally, a new mascot for the chain was revealed during the grand opening.

Called Don Lino, the character is “a tribute to the generations of bakers who inspired the Cáceres family’s craft,” the news release states.

On the menu

La Panadería Bakery Café offers a wide variety of Mexican-inspired bakery cuisine from tortas to dulces, as well as baked goods and specialty coffee.

The restaurant offers a breakfast menu, every day brunch options and a gourmet selection of specialized tortas.

They also offer a build-your-own tortas menu and specialities like the Alamo Burger and the Fiesta Lobster Roll.
