As Walmart continues to renovate its stores across Texas, a location in North San Antonio has unveiled its new look, featuring a unique twist.

The setup

Walmart No. 5145 at 1603 Vance Jackson Road in Northern San Antonio reopened to the public during a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Nov. 7, according to a news release.

Along with store upgrades and a refreshed interior design, Walmart now has a new veterans mural, designed by Texas-based Artist Sunni Gonzales.

The remodel project lasted approximately four months, according to a Facebook post from the Walmart location.

The context

The store is one of 67 Walmart locations planned for remodels in Texas this year, according to a news release from the company.

Several more Walmart stores across the San Antonio metro area have closed and reopened due to renovation projects.

A $1 million renovation at a store in Schertz was revealed on Oct. 31, while another North San Antonio location reopened on June 13, according to previous reporting from Community Impact.
