Alphabetz Montessori is planning to open their second San Antonio location in the “first or second week of September,” Director Maribel Campos told Community Impact.
The center will be situated at 19336 Bulverde Road, near Stone Oak.
Explained
Focusing on Montessori-based education methods, the learning center will teach using hands-on, mainly interactive activities, Campos said.
Montessori education is a learning approach that was developed by Dr. Maria Montessori in 1907, according to the American Montessori Society.
Schools using this style often have multi-age classrooms, a focus on self-care, discovery and independent learning, the society’s website says.
What’s special about it
This includes developing advanced motor coordination skills for infants, toddlers and preschoolers in addition to fostering independent thinking and discovery, according to the center’s website.
Full-time programs for infants through preschool will be available in addition to before and after-school programs for children through 12 years old.
In the future, the daycare plans to expand and has already identified additional locations across San Antonio, Campos said.
