Homesense, a discount home furnishing store, opened its second location this month in the Northwoods Shopping Center on Feb. 20
The details
The new store, located at 1730 N. Loop 1604 E., will be at the former Bed Bath & Beyond site. The department store is part of the TJX Company which owns T.J.Maxx, Marshalls and HomeGoods. Homesense sells furniture, decor, lighting, art, bedding, rugs and more.

Hazel Sky Smoke Shop opened a new location at 2407 Evans Road, Ste. 110, San Antonio, on Jan. 5.
The details
The smoke shop’s first store opened in San Antonio in 2014 and now operates at 17 locations, with stores in Dallas and Florida, according to its website.
Hazel Sky Smoke Shop offers an assortment of glass pieces, hookah products, cigarillos, torches, apparel and more.

The Porch is now offering beer and cocktails in The Commons at Wilderness Oaks retail center.
The details
The new bar replaced retro-themed bar Billie Jean, which closed in December.
Co-owned by Tiana Garcia, The Porch held a soft opening Jan. 31. Garcia said a food menu will be introduced in the coming weeks. The Porch will also have a dedicated patio space for guests to enjoy drinks and food outside.

CityVet opened a new pet clinic at Alon Town Center Jan. 27.
