Local brewery Weathered Souls Brewing Co. will be closing its doors Sept. 22, according to Kimberly Machado, director of sales and marketing and co-owner of the business.

The details

Weathered Souls Brewing Co. offers stouts and IPAs, including Rwanda French Press, Hopportunity Knocks and They Hop Like Us. According to its website, the company focuses on sourcing its grain locally, as well as delivering to San Antonio, Houston, Austin and South Texas. The company also has an online shop that features dog items.

The company announced on Instagram that it will be permanently closing after eight years of operation.

Machado said the business had been facing some challenges due to the rising cost of ingredients and decline in consumption, despite efforts to adapt.

“It was a tough choice, but after careful consideration, we felt it was the right time to close this chapter,” Machado said. “We hope everyone comes out to support now until Sept. 22.”

The brewery is involved in the Black is Beautiful initiative that supports the National Black Brewers Association's work in developing and growing Black brewers nationwide.
