Family Care Center opens in far west San Antonio, offering behavioral health services

Family Care Center opened mental health clinic in the Westover Hills/ Alamo Ranch area.

Family Care Center offers a range of treatments for children, adolescents and adults, including therapy, psychiatric services and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). They have nearly 30 locations across Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Tennessee and Texas.

The Westover Hills clinic, according to a news release, offers in-person and virtual appointments for patients seeking individual or couples therapy, children’s and teen therapy, family counseling and more. It also has psychiatrists on staff to provide evaluations and medication management support.

According to Mental Health America, nearly one in five U.S. adults has a diagnosable mental health condition in any given year, and nearly 500,000 people may battle mental illness in Bexar County.

Officials with Family Care Center said that widening access to mental health care service is vital in any community. The center accepts most insurance plans, the release stated.

“Patients can visit their therapist, psychiatrist and other mental health providers under one roof, with appointments in days, not months,” regional director Jessica Miller said in a statement.
