Recent business launches in the far west San Antonio area have included the opening of a new Salad and Go, a new VCA Animal Hospital, and two Gotcha Covered franchises, which consult on custom window treatment.

Gotcha Covered

Two Gotcha Covered franchises began consulting in June with homeowners about blinds, draperies and other window solutions. Gotcha Covered of Far West San Antonio is owned and operated by Ruby Lopez, while Gotcha Covered of Northwest San Antonio and Boerne is owned and operated by Shon and Crissy Essman.

Lopez’s franchise focuses on far west San Antonio and Bexar County neighborhoods. According to a news release, Lopez is a bilingual certified public accountant with a background spanning in internal and external auditing. She previously worked at a multinational telecommunications company and a global media and entertainment group.

“Owning my own Gotcha Covered business means having the opportunity to shape my destiny, use my creativity in my profession and make a meaningful impact as a small business entrepreneur in my community on my terms,” Lopez said in a statement.

The Essmans’ franchise focuses on homeowners in northwest San Antonio, Boerne, Bulverde, Spring Branch, Fair Oaks, Garden Ridge, Helotes and Blanco by offering a variety of blinds, draperies, smart solutions and more.

Shon Essman previously spent 25 years as a communications engineer and personnel manager for a municipally owned utility company, a news release stated. Crissy Essman has experience in the window covering industry, including independent business ownership and working with various franchise organizations.

“Crissy and I have always had the dream of owning our own business,” Shon Essman said in a statement. “The joy we receive from helping our customers achieve their vision and desire from their home improvements is our complete motivation.”
