April has marked the arrival of a new Mexican restaurant in the Bulverde Road/Fossil Creek neighborhood and a pizzeria near Hill Country Village.

Sofia’s Pizzeria announced it has expanded from its Potranco Road-area home to open a second location at 903 E. Bitters Road in early April.

Sofia’s fills the former home of Miss Ellie’s Pizza, which permanently closed earlier this year after being in business since 1998.

According to their menus, Sofia’s specializes in New York-style pizzas, with menu items including the Margherita, Mucha Meatsa, Buffalo Chicken, Hawaiian and Greek.

Sofia’s officials said they plan to open a third location in the Evans Road/TPC Parkway area this summer. For more information, call 210-960-5700, or visit www.sofiaspizzeriatx.com.

Panfila Cantina is open for brunch, dinner and happy hour daily, featuring a full bar and a patio.
