Briscoe Western Art Museum will host “Southwest Rising: Contemporary Art and the Legacy of Elaine Horwitch”, a new exhibit showcasing the Southwest’s influence on Western art. The exhibit focuses on Horwitch, who was responsible for launching the careers of hundreds of artists from the region and the nation, and was a leader fostering what has been called “new Western art” or “Southwest pop.” The exhibit will end Sept. 4.

San Antonio Animal Care Services and Protect Your Pet veterinary services begin collaborating on a new series of public pet vaccination clinics, offering core canine and feline vaccinations along with registered microchips to San Antonio residents with a picture ID and current address. Pet owners should ensure their pets are on a leash with a properly fitting collar or in an appropriate carrier. Free vaccinations and microchips are available while supplies last. Additional clinics will be held throughout the summer.
