Boerne ISD announced a two-hour delay on Jan. 27 to ensure student and staff safety.
Elementary schools will open at 9 a.m. and instruction will begin at 9:35 a.m. Students will be dismissed at 3 p.m. as usual.
Middle and high schools will have doors open at 10 a.m., with instruction beginning at 10:30 a.m. Students will be dismissed at 4 p.m.
Bus routes are scheduled to be exactly two hours later than usual. The instruction time missed due to inclement weather will not need to be made up.

Over the night of Jan. 24, Winter Storm Fern brought a layer of ice to Boerne and surrounding areas. Due to ice accumulation, Boerne ISD has cancelled school and extracurricular activities for Jan. 26.

While the winter storm dropped temperatures and coated the city in ice, Boerne's infrastructure withstood the weather.
According to a Jan. 25 Facebook announcement, Boerne utilities have not had any significant issues or reported power outages. Roads in Fair Oaks Ranch are also reported by Police Chief Todd Smith to be deteriorated and potentially unsafe for drivers.
Despite the city being in the clear, roads remain iced over, and temperatures are expected to remain low into the early part of the week of Jan. 26, according to information from the National Weather Service.
Residents are encouraged to stay inside during the freeze to ensure roads are clear and safe.

BISD district officials said they will continue to monitor conditions in coordination with the National Weather Service and local emergency management officials, and post updates to the district website, social media platforms and BoerneISD.net.
