Shane Stolarczyk, Ricky Gleason move to May 26 Kendall County Judge runoff election

With all 11 precincts reporting, incumbent Shane Stolarczyk and Ricky Gleason will advance to a runoff on May 26.

A total of 13,169 ballots were cast during the March 3 election, representing 33.04% of registered voters in the county.

In the election, Stolarczyk received 4,292 votes, or 44.16%, while Gleason received 3,979 votes, or 40.94%. Besa Martin received 1,449, or 14.91%, of the votes.

April 27 is the last day to register to vote in the May 26 runoff election, and early voting will begin on May 18.

All results are unofficial until canvassed.

Early vote totals are in, showing incumbent Shane Stolarczyk with a slight lead in the Kendall County Judge race over Besa Martin and Ricky Gleason.

During the early voting period, 18.89% of registered voters cast a ballot, totaling 7,528 residents at the polls.

Breaking it down

Early voting results show 2,743, or 46.06%, of early votes favoring Stolarczyk, while Gleason trails with 2,321, or 38.98%, of early votes. Besa Martin garnered the lowest number of early votes, receiving 891, or 14.96%, of early votes.

While Stolarczyk leads the early vote totals, no candidate has received more than 50% of early votes, indicating the potential for a runoff election. Should no candidate reach greater than 50% of votes, the top two candidates will move to a runoff election on May 26.

The winner of the Republican primary election for Kendall County Judge will run unopposed in November, effectively becoming the new elected official.
