As of 8 p.m. Election Day Nov. 8, former District Judge Peter Sakai is leading the race for Bexar County judge where he and former Pct. 3 Commissioner Trish DeBerry and Libertarian Edgar Coyle are vying to succeed longtime County Judge Nelson Wolff.
According to the Bexar County Elections Department, Sakai, a Democrat, had 59.1% of the early vote compared with 38.1% for DeBerry, a Republican. Coyle has 2.7% of the vote.
Also in Bexar County, Republican Grant Moody, a Valero Energy Corp. executive, leads the two-way contest for the open Precinct 3 county commissioners post with 52.6% of the early vote.
