Eight residents applied to challenge incumbent Ron Nirenberg, who is seeking a fourth and final term as mayor of San Antonio in the May 6 election.
Per city code, the two candidates who receive the most votes but fail to collect 50% or more of the total vote May 6 will go to a June runoff.
