Following the deadline to apply for a place on the May 4 ballot, the city of Live Oak will have one contested race.

Two City Council positions and the mayor position are up for election in 2024.
For the City Council Place 4 election, incumbent Ed Cimics will seek re-election, running against Charles Ramires.
Mayor Mary Dennis is the lone mayor candidate, meaning she will be sworn in following the canvassing of votes in May, city staff said. Place 2 council member Robert “Bob” Tullgren will also run uncontested.
