With the approach of a new enrollment season for San Antonio’s choice schools, San Antonio Charter Moms, a nonprofit, is launching its School Discovery Days event series with a Nov. 7 gathering at Hemisfair’s Yanaguana Garden, 434 S. Alamo St.
According to a news release, School Discovery Days connect families with schools in a face-to-face format that enables parents and students to interact directly with representatives of several schools in one location. Because of the COVID-19 outbreak, no in-person School Discovery Days event was held in 2020.
There are more than 150 choice schools in the San Antonio area. Representatives with San Antonio Charter Moms say their group aims to help make things easier for families seeking an ideal campus for their child whether they are recovering from pandemic-related learning loss or looking to accommodate individual learning needs and abilities.
“Whether families are interested in a magnet program, a public charter school or even a dual-language school, the most direct way to decide if a school is the right fit for your student is to talk one on one with school representatives,” SACM founder Inga Cotton said in a release. “We are thrilled to bring back our popular School Discovery Days after taking a hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.”
