Judson ISD approves employee retention incentive

The Judson ISD Board of Trustees on Nov. 30 approved an employee retention incentive to be paid during the 2021-22 fiscal year.

Superintendent Jeanette Ball complimented the hard work of employees throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We have some of the most hard-working employees,” Ball said. “Employees that for the last 18 months have truly done so much for our students and our staff and continue to go above and beyond.”

Full-time employees employed as of Nov. 19 will be paid a gross amount of $1,000. Part-time employees will be paid a gross amount of $500.

Substitute employees that have worked between 20 and 49 days will be paid $400, and those who have worked over 50 days will be paid $500.

Employees who do not stay until the end of the employment year will have funds withheld from their last check or refund the funds to the district.

The estimated cost of the incentive is $4.2 million and is funded from Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief funds provided to help the district recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.
