A new, locally-owned eatery is on the way to downtown Boerne and the Hill Country Mile.

The new spot, Selah Cafe Coffee + Market, is located at 616 N. Main St.
Owners Aubrey and Stephen Gimenez said they’re hoping to have it open by late January or early February.
Currently, the new menu for the cafe is still being finalized—but Gimenez said there’s a general idea of what the eatery will offer.
“We are going to have award-winning New York-style bagels available for sandwiches or with good ole schmear, as well as weekly specials from local micro bakers,” Gimenez said.Dive deeper.
A local bar, grill and live music venue has shut its doors in New Braunfels.
What’s happening
The Weighted Plate officially closed Nov. 22 at 5441 FM 1102, owner Cody Teer told Community Impact.
“We had a good thing going,” Teer said. “The community has been super supportive with helping us right now.”
Teer cited the early November installation of “no parking” signs along FM 1102 and directly in front of the business as the main driver behind the shutdown.
A new convenience store with a fully stocked Dunkin’ inside has opened next to VIA’s Stone Oak Park and Ride location along the US 281 frontage road.

Owned by Sachin Bhutani and Muhammad Amin, Market@StoneOak, an upscale convenience store, offers a variety of snacks and drinks, such as Dubai chocolates, craft beer and sodas, as well as everyday items like milk, eggs and bread.
A national chain of frozen custard restaurants has a new location in Cibolo.
What's new
Andy’s Frozen Custard opened within Cibolo's Buffalo Heights retail development Dec. 3. The restaurant company has 186 locations throughout 15 states, according to its website, including 39 in Texas. The chain currently has three stores in San Antonio.
The restaurant is known for its concrete and Jackhammer frozen custard blends, as well as sundaes, splits and malts.
Papa Nachos Cantina celebrated the soft opening of the new location Nov. 17.
What’s happening?
For over 20 years, Papa Nachos has served food off Boerne Stage Road, opening a new location featuring a larger space, a bar, a private room for events and a patio area.
The new location is slightly north of Ralph Fair Road on I-10, near Two Creeks.
The restaurant serves lunch and dinner with reworked menus offering a selection of Mexican dishes. Catering services are also available.
