The San Antonio Historic and Design Review Commission on Sept. 7 approved the conceptual design of a 200-room hotel that local company Zachry Hospitality plans to develop at Hemisfair.
Overland Partners Architects designed the 17-story, full-service hotel, which Zachry Hospitality will own and operate as a Curio Collection by Hilton, according to a news release.
Officials with the Hemisfair Park Area Redevelopment Corp., which is overseeing redevelopment of the downtown civic space, said the project will be located on 1.5 acres near the intersection of South Alamo and Market streets.
Zachry Corp. President and CEO David Zachry, in a statement, thanked the HPARC and other partners for arriving at a major milestone in the long-term transformation of Hemisfair into an active area filled with local businesses, hospitality and green space open to events and recreation.
