Schertz City Council on Sept. 13 adopted the fiscal year 2022-23 budget and tax rate.
According to city staff, the total budget has anticipated expenditures of $103,873,315.
Finance Director James Walters said the FY 2022-23 budget will include 32 new positions, funding for roads and trails, the replacement of the police records management system, a parking lot for Building 27 and other small programs.
Council approved a tax rate of $0.4950 per $100 valuation, which is an approximately 9.4% increase. The new tax rate will have an estimated bill increase of $124.99.
