Notable quotes
Jesus Saenz, director of airports for the San Antonio Airport System, said the Univision store is part of the airport’s transformation and reflects not only change but the city’s unique history and relationship with Hispanic culture.
“As you walk down the terminal corridors in Terminal A or Terminal B, you see new change, but that change is also connecting [us] with who we are, and we don't lose focus of our history and our culture, and that's what this is about,” Saenz said.
Daniel Alegre, CEO of TelevisaUnivision, expressed excitement to be opening the ninth Univision store in the city where Univision began.
“I'm very excited to be here, where Univision all started 70 years ago,” Alegre said. “[In] 1955, Raul Cortez had the incredible vision of creating a station in Spanish for the Spanish community...now, 70 years later, we are the largest Spanish media company in the world. But despite our international presence, we're about being locally relevant, starting from a Univision store here in the great San Antonio airport.”
