After returning to Boerne after decades in New Orleans, Sandra and Sondra Boone said they wanted to continue selling antiques to customers in the Hill Country.

As a result, she officially opened Foundry Hill Country at 608 E. Blanco Road on Oct. 2.

The details

The new antique store offers rustic, Hill Country-style home decor, vintage antiques, accessories and a few other home goods.

There’s also a selection of dried flowers, plants and tumbleweed available.

Down the road, the duo plans to offer fresh flowers and bouquets for purchase as well, Sandra Boone said.

What’s special about it?

Aside from working in the hospitality business and with interior design, Boone also owned another antique shop in the Houston area.

“We would take vintage items and add to them,” Boone said.

As a result, Foundry Hill Country will offer the same customization service for patrons in the community.

Additionally, Boone can help decorate for special events like weddings and complement interior design in residential homes.

Boone said it makes them stand out compared to other shops of the same variety in the area.

The context

Foundry Hill Country is one of two antique stores that have opened in the Boerne area over the last few months—the other being Beyond Blessed Keepsakes, as previously reported by Community Impact.

While two have opened, two others have closed—previous reporting by Community Impact shows JAC's Personal Touch and 259 Home Market announced their closures earlier this fall.
