Chase Bank is in the process of receiving permits from the city of Boerne for a new location at the corner of the I-10 Frontage Road and West Bandera Road. The location was formerly a Shell gas station.

The details

The Planning and Zoning Commission on April 7 approved a 30-day extension for the major development plat, giving the developer time to bring the project up to city standards.

During the meeting, commission members raised concerns about the old Shell sign on the property, which no longer fits within the city sign code.

Vice Chair Lucas Hilar said he would like to see the sign come down before any other construction on the building begins. A representative for the development said the sign removal will be one of the first development steps.

Moving forward

Upon approval, this will be the second Chase Bank location coming to the Boerne Area, with a new location planned for the Lemon Creek Ranch development.

While an official construction date has not been established and cannot be established until after receiving play approval and a building permit, representatives for the project told the Planning and Zoning Commission that construction is expected to begin shortly after the permitting process.
