Round Rock ISD announces four days of virtual learning in February, March and May

Round Rock ISD will move to remote virtual asynchronous learning for four days in February, March and May, according to a news release on Jan. 21.

Asynchronous learning means that students will spend those days at home participating in online schooling while teachers engage in planning and preparation.

The virtual days are Feb. 1, March 1 and 29, and May 3. Teachers will guide students on assignments, completing missing work or enrichment activities.

The RRISD board of trustees approved the days for virtual learning Jan. 14. The Texas Education Agency gives school districts waivers for asynchronous instructional days during the spring in 2020-21.

If parents need childcare for those days, supervision will be offered on campus for students to complete their schoolwork. To be marked present on the virtual days, students will be required to complete an online assignment by 11:59 p.m. that day.

Free curbside meals will still be offered for students Mon.-Fri. from 7-8:30 a.m. If the student is not there during the pickup window, families can still receive a meal if they bring a student ID.
