First day of school is Aug. 12 in Round Rock ISD, other important dates

Round Rock ISD will open its doors to more than 46,000 students for the first day of the 2025-26 school year Aug. 12.

Looking ahead

Check out some important dates for RRISD students.

• The first student holiday will be Sept. 1.
• Thanksgiving break is a full week, Nov. 24-28.
• Winter break will start Dec. 19, and classes will resume Jan. 6.
• The last day of school is May 21.

The district's board of trustees originally approved a calendar with an Aug. 13 start to the school year, but amended the calendar in May to allow for additional staff and student holidays.
