According to unofficial May 24 results, Landy Warren will be the Republican nominee in the Williamson County commissioner Precinct 1 race and face Democrat Terry Cook in the November general election. With 98 out of 100 precincts reporting, Warren received 55.89 percent of the vote, or 1,030 votes, compared with Donna Parker's 44.11 percent of the vote, or 813 votes. All results are unofficial until canvassed.

According to unofficial early voting results released May 24, Landy Warren is ahead in the primary runoff race for the Republican nomination for the Williamson County Precinct 1 commissioner seat with 632 votes, or 56.08 percent of the vote, compared with Donna Parker's 495 votes, or 43.92 percent of the vote. Warren said he was excited but was going to wait until all the results were in before celebrating. "We're not going to draw any conclusions because things can move," Warren said. Parker said despite the early results favoring Warren, she feels confident in her chances. Parker and Warren are competing in the primary runoff election because none of the Republican candidates in the March 1 primary garnered at least 50 percent of the vote. Parker and Warren were the top two vote-getters March 1, so they advanced to the runoff. The runoff winner will face Democratic nominee Terry Cook in the November general election. The incumbent, Lisa Birkman, did not seek re-election. Parker, a small-business owner, said her top priorities are efficient management of county debt; new transportation solutions; and opposing the proposed Lower Colorado River Authority transmission line routes near homes, parks and schools. Warren, a banker and businessman, has said his top issues in the race are cutting taxes, constructing roads without raising taxes and keeping the county safe. All results are unofficial until canvassed.
