Rick Friedman's first six months in business have far exceeded his expectations, he said. Friedman opened The Hutto Barber Shop on June 2 but said he thought he would experience difficulty breaking through with a new clientele after five years at John's Barber & Styling Shop in Round Rock—especially given his cable company's month-long lag in installing his phone line, he said. "When I first opened I thought, 'Oh, Im going to sit here for a couple months and just go crazy," Friedman said. "[But] ever since I opened, my people followed me over here." Friedman said in 2015 he is considering adding all-natural shampoos, which he makes himself. As he capped off a 2014 that he said was successful, Friedman said he hopes the potential new products will help further grow his business. "Overall, [business has] been unbelievable," he said. "It really has. Its been just great. More and more people are finding out about us."
