Pflugerville council likely to consider resolution opposing MoKan railway

The MoKan corridor is a railroad right of way that runs roughly along Railroad Avenue and crosses Pecan Street between Railroad and FM 685.

Council members Victor Gonzales, Darrelle White and Starlet Sattler also expressed opposition to utilizing the MoKan corridor.

The MoKan path for a rail line is not the only option that has been put forth by Project Connect. Other maps show a rail line passing along Toll 45 and down to Pflugerville along Toll 130, for example. Several council members expressed support for a rail line along Toll 130.

Pflugerville spokesperson Terri Waggoner said she hopes the resolution makes it clear that the city is not against mass transit options, just the particular path through the heart of the city.
