Austin area TxDOT road closures through Friday

The Texas Department of Transportation announced the following Austin-area road closures through Jan. 13. They are listed by the roadway they affect: I-35 (Travis County)

• The inside lane will be closed in both directions between William Cannon Drive and Slaughter Creek through Thursday night. Northbound closures are from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. and southbound closures are from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
• Reduced to one lane on the northbound access road for a half-mile at The Lakes Boulevard, north of Howard Lane, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Thursday.
• The outside lane on the northbound access road will be closed between Slaughter Lane and Boggy Creek Drive from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Friday.
• The outside lane on the northbound access road will be closed between William Cannon Drive and Stassney Lane from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Friday.
• The outside lane on the southbound access road will be closed between Battle Bend Boulevard and William Cannon Drive from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Friday.
• Alternating closures on the northbound access road at Crown Colony Drive for 800 feet from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Friday. The inside lane will be closed Wednesday and the outside lane will be closed on Thursday and Friday.
• The outside lane on the southbound access road will be closed between William Cannon Drive and Slaughter Lane from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Saturday.
• Various closures on the southbound exits between 12th Street and Riverside Drive (exits 234C-233) from 9 p.m. Wednesday until 5 a.m. Thursday and from 9 p.m. Thursday until 1 a.m. Friday. Closures will last about two hours each, and only one exit will be closed at a time. Expect some minor closures on the outside lanes approaching the exits.
• The outside lane of the southbound access road will be closed between East 53rd and East 52nd streets from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday.
• The south-to-north turnaround bridge will be closed at 51st Street until further notice. Detour via the 51st Street intersection.

US 183

• The southbound access road will be reduced to one lane between Hwy. 290 and Langston Drive from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Friday.
• The mainlanes and access road will be closed in both directions at MLK Boulevard/FM 969 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Wednesday and Thursday. Traffic will detour via the FM 969 exit and proceed to the next entrance ramp. If work is completed Wednesday, the closure for Thursday will be canceled.
• Watch for shoulder work in both directions between Cameron Road and US 183 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Wednesday and Thursday.
• No access to Tracor Lane and Marcel Gres Drive at northbound US 183 beginning 7 a.m. Friday until further notice. Detour via TechniCenter Drive.

US 290/SH 71

• The eastbound outside lane will be closed between William Cannon Drive and Joe Tanner Lane from 6 a.m. to noon Sunday.

SH 71

• The eastbound ramp to northbound SH 130 will be closed from 8 p.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. Thursday and from 8 p.m. Friday to 10 a.m. Saturday. Drivers will proceed to the SH 130 access road intersection and turn left to reach the toll road.
• Expect various single-road closures in both directions between Presidential Boulevard and Kellam Road from 8 p.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. Thursday, and from 8 p.m. Friday to 10 a.m. Saturday. Expect rolling lane closures at times.
• The east-to-west turnaround at Spirit of Texas Drive will be closed until further notice.
• No access to/from Cheviot Lane and Fallwell, Bessie and Royster avenues at westbound SH 71 until further notice. Fallwell Avenue traffic detours via the SH 130 access road. Bessie Avenue and Royster Avenue traffic detours via Eva Street and FM 973, respectively. Cheviot Lane detours via Terry Lane.

SH 130

• Expect alternating single-lane closures in both directions on the mainlanes and access roads near SH 71 from 8 p.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. Thursday, and from 8 p.m. Friday to 10 a.m. Saturday.

• The northbound RM 2222 exit ramp has been reduced to one lane until further notice.
• The northbound entrance ramp from Cesar Chavez and Sixth streets will be closed from 9 p.m. Wednesday to 6 a.m. Thursday. Use next ramp.
• Reduced to one northbound outside lane between Enfield Road and 35th Street  from 9 p.m. Wednesday to 6 a.m. Thursday.
• The southbound outside lane between 45th and 35th streets from 8 p.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. Thursday. The entrance ramp from 45th Street and the 35th Street exit ramp will also be closed.
• Reduced to one northbound inside lane between 45th Street and RM 2222 from 9 p.m. Thursday to 6 a.m. Friday. The 45th Street entrance and RM 2222 exit will also be closed.

SL 82  (Aquarena Springs Boulevard)

• Expect various closures in both directions at the new Post Road intersection from 9 a.m. Wednesday to 4 p.m. Thursday.

SL 111 (Airport Boulevard)

• The northbound inside lane will be closed between Vargas Road and Bolm Road from 8 p.m. Wednesday to 6 a.m. Thursday.

FM 150

• One lane traffic control between Lox Road and SH 21 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Thursday.

FM 97

• One lane traffic control with flaggers at I-35 for 3 miles from 7 a.m.  to 5 p.m. through Friday.

FM 1460

• The inside lane will be closed in both directions between Hwy. 79 and Plateau Vista Boulevard from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Friday.

51st Street

• Reduced to one lane each direction between Hutchison Drive and US 183 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m through Friday.

Enfield Road

• The outside lanes will be closed in both directions across MoPac from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Thursday. Look for various closures on Newfield Lane at Enfield Road.

High Tech Drive

• Closed at FM 1460 until further notice. Detour via Quail Valley Drive and Texstar Drive.

Levander Loop

• Closed between Airport Boulevard and Bolm Road from 8 p.m. Wednesday to 6 a.m. Thursday. Detour via Seventh Street, Shady Lane and Cesar Chavez Street to Levander Loop and northbound US 183.

Spirit of Texas Drive

• Reduced to one lane in each direction under SH 71 until further notice.

Westover Road

• The outside lanes will be closed across MoPac from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday.
