Three Round Rock ISD trustee candidate forums set before Nov. 8 election

The Round Rock ISD Council of Parent-Teacher Associations has invited candidates running for the district's board of trustees to participate in three forums before the Nov. 8 general election, according to a district announcement.

The RRISD election features one contested race this year as well as two incumbents, who are running unopposed.

Three forums are scheduled:

• 1:15-2:15 p.m., Monday, Oct. 17, at Canyon Creek Elementary School
• 7-8 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 18, at Walsh Middle School
• 7-8 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 19, at Cedar Ridge High School

Mason Moses, an investment associate, and Tony Pitts, a civil litigation and probate lawyer, are running for Place 7 on the board. Place 7 Trustee Pauline Law, who is also the board's vice president, will not run for re-election.

Trustees Nikki Gonzales, who was elected in 2014, and Charles “Chad” Chadwell, who has served on the board since 2008, are running unopposed.

Trustees on the seven-member RRISD board are elected at-large by voters and serve staggered four-year terms.

According to the district's announcement, candidates will answer written questions submitted by members of the public and will make opening and closing statements.
