Richardson City Council approves contract for road improvements

Richardson drivers may soon see upgrades in progress to two roads as council approved contract bids during the Jan. 13 meeting.

The details

Richardson City Council approved a $9.12 million contract to McHahon Contracting for infrastructure improvements to Lakeside Boulevard from US-75 to East Campbell Road and Lawnview Drive from Lakeside Boulevard to North Greenville Avenue to McMahon Contracting.

The project will consist of removing and replacing the concrete pavement, sidewalks and corner ramps that have been deemed deficient.

It will also include storm sewer, sanitary sewer and water main improvements.

The project is funded by the 2021 bond program and with DART Public Transportation Improvement funds.

Construction is set to begin in February and will take about a year to complete.
