Dallas Area Rapid Transit President and Chief Executive Officer Nadine Lee is stepping down.

Lee informed the transit authority’s board of directors that she will not seek a contract extension, according to a DART news release.
Lee has served in the position since July 2021. DART’s board was set to discuss Lee’s employment agreement at its March 24 meeting, according to meeting documents.
DART Board Chair Randall Bryant said in the release that Lee “positioned DART to remain a critical mobility partner for the region.”
“Nadine stepped into this role at a very challenging moment for the transit industry and helped guide DART through recovery while setting a clear strategic direction for the future,” Bryant said.
What’s next
Officials confirmed Lee will continue serving in her current position until she and the board agree on separation details. In the meantime, the recruitment process for Lee’s replacement will begin immediately, and the announcement of an interim CEO will be made “in the coming weeks,” the release states.
