Texas Instruments names Haviv Ilan as next CEO

Texas Instruments announced Jan. 19 that Haviv Ilan will become the company's next president and CEO effective April 1, according to a press release.

Ilan, a 24-year veteran of TI, succeeds current CEO and President Rich Templeton, who will remain as the company's chairman. Ilan previously served as TI's senior vice president in 2014, later becoming executive vice president and chief operating officer in 2020. Ilan was elected to the board of directors in 2021.

"Haviv is an inspiring leader who is widely respected amongst our customers, employees and shareholders," Templeton said in a statement. "He has a proven track record of delivering results, an intense focus on innovation and a passion to win, all of which make him an exceptional leader.”

Texas Instruments is a global semiconductor company that is headquartered near Richardson at 12500 TI Blvd., Dallas, The company built a wafer fabrication facility in Richardson in 2009, with production starting in 2022 on a second Richardson-based 300-millimeter wafer fabrication facility, which is reportedly the largest plant in the world, according to TI officials.

With more than 630,000 square feet of space between the two fabrication facilities, TI officials said the operation is expected to produce 100 million analog chips per day at the site.

In addition to its Richardson location, Texas Instruments broke ground in 2022 in Sherman on a site for four new wafer fabrication plants. A $30 billion project, the first plant is expected to complete by early 2025.
