Dallas Mavericks plan new arena, entertainment district in far north Dallas

The team will likely move out of its downtown Dallas location by 2031, when its lease ends at the American Airlines Center.

“The Valley View site meets most of the criteria established at the outset of our evaluation process,” the team said in the statement. “It is our goal to stay in the City of Dallas, and we believe this site provides the strongest opportunity to achieve that goal.”

Although Dallas Area Rapid Transit buses are available around the new arena location, the area is not accessible by rail service.
