With Prosper’s new electric bicycle and electric motorcycle ordinance now in effect, Prosper Police Department is hosting a series of e-bike registration events through Dec. 11.
The new ordinance went into effect Dec. 1.
What you need to know
A town permit is required to operate an e-bike under the ordinance, which was approved by Prosper Town Council Oct. 28.
Residents can register their e-bikes at the police station by appointment or at one of the upcoming registration events.
Registration events:
- Dec. 5, 4-7 p.m. at Tanner’s Mill Park (1641 Prince William Lane)
- Dec. 7, 2-5 p.m. at Frontier Park Pavilion (1551 West Frontier Parkway)
- Dec. 9, 4-7 p.m. at Lakewood Park (621 South Coit Road)
- Dec. 10, 4-7 p.m. at Star Meadow Park in Star Trail next to Hall Elementary (901 Star Meadow Drive)
- Dec. 11, 4-7 p.m. at Prairie Park in Parks at Legacy (842 Lavender Drive)
Residents can also submit online registration requests through the town’s website.
Looking ahead
According to a social media post from Prosper Police Department, station tours and e-bike appointments will be unavailable from Dec. 22-Jan. 2.
