A proposed dual-branded Hilton hotel could be coming to Prosper.
The project is set to go before Prosper Town Council in late April after the Planning and Zoning Commission recommended denying a special use permit at a March 25 meeting.
Project developer Wilson Parmar said the project will be a joint full-service and extended-stay hybrid hotel.

The proposal details a 37,753-square-foot hotel building near the intersection of US 380 and Dallas Parkway along Mahard Parkway.
Full-service hotels are permitted in Prosper by right, but extended-stay hotels require town approval through a special use permit. The project would combine a Hilton Garden Inn and a Homewood Suites by Hilton into a single, divided building, according to the project’s site plan.
Parmar said developing a dual hotel is a new trend in the industry.
“This is a dual brand [in] one building,” Parmar said. “All the flags—Hilton, Marriot, Hyatt—they all have a dual brand.”

Several commissioners raised concerns about the extended-stay component of the hotel.
Chair Damon Jackson said he would not be in favor of having an extended-stay hotel in Prosper.
“We are in a community where we’re looking for specific things to have here in Prosper,” Jackson said.
Commissioner Brett Butler said he supported having the full-service Hilton Garden Inn, but he did not support having the extended-stay hotel.
“I have a hard time getting on board with the extended-stay aspect of this,” Butler said.
Next steps
David Hoover, Prosper's Development Services director, said the item is currently scheduled to go before Prosper Town Council at its April 28 meeting as part of the standard review process.
