1. Silverada at The Gin
See Silverada, a country band based in Austin, perform on the Farmers Bank Stage at The Gin in downtown Prosper. The concert will follow the release of the band’s new album, Living Proof, on Aug. 7, according to the band’s website.
2. Mindful Reset: Breathwork & Guided Meditation
Instructor Cheshta Saluja will present an adults-only, beginner-friendly guided meditation at the Prosper Community Library. The session will focus on breathwork, awareness and daily mindfulness techniques.
3. Flavored Bread Making Class
Head to Granny’s Bakery in downtown Celina for a class on baking flavored bread. Bakers will take home a finished loaf of bread and a recipe to recreate at home.
4. Seek & Find: A Family Nature Adventure
Join the Prosper Community Library for a nature class using Seek, a kid-friendly app for identifying bugs, birds and plants. Families will take photos of living things and make observations as they explore the outdoors.
5. Fire Station No. 2 Open House
Come out to Fire Station No. 2 to meet the firefighters, tour the station and learn more about Celina’s fire trucks and equipment. The event will also feature face painting, fresh-baked cookies and a sidewalk chalk contest.
6. Active Adults 55+ Expo
The town of Prosper will host an exposition with resources and information about senior living, health and wellness, finances and medical services geared toward active adults.
