Celina ISD closes campuses for Jan. 30, Prosper ISD to open

Celina ISD officials announced in a Facebook post that all campuses and facilities will remain closed through Jan. 30.

The announcement states that the safety of students and staff are what drove the decision to keep schools closed. Officials said neighborhoods in the northern portion of the district are still a "great concern." Officials also cited standing water on the roadways, which are expected to freeze overnight.

According to the post, CISD officials are expecting schools to reopen Monday, Feb. 2.

Prosper ISD officials released a statement that classes will resume Friday, Jan. 30. Bus routes may run slower than normal and drivers are encouraged to take caution heading to schools, according to the statement.
