The Home Depot is open on Preston Road in Celina.
The store held a board cutting ceremony and opened to shoppers at 6 p.m. on Aug. 19 ahead of its grand opening on Aug. 20.
The home improvement retailer offers a wide selection of tools, appliances, building materials, paint, gardening supplies and more, according to its website.
Meet the team
Celina store manager Rachel Sutton first started at The Home Depot 18 years ago as a part-time cashier, she said.
Now she’s responsible for 149 associates, including 124 who are brand-new to working at The Home Depot, Sutton said.
In a fast-growing city like Celina, Sutton expects the store’s customers to be a mix of do-it-yourself shoppers and professional contractors, she said.
“There’s a lot of growth in this area, and so we do believe that the pro part of our business will be huge at this store,” Sutton said.

Celina City Council approved an economic incentive agreement for the store in December 2024.
The Home Depot will receive a sales tax grant of up to $1.4 million over ten years split between the city and the Celina Economic Development Corporation. The city is expected to see a return on the investment in five years, according to previous reporting.
