Members of the Plano community showed up at Medical City hospital in a display of solidarity for health care workers.
Drivers on April 8 parked outside the hospital and honked, flashed lights and cheered for the workers as confirmed cases of the new coronavirus continued their climb in the region.
Some adorned their windshields with "Thank you" signs and other messages, which workers could see from their windows.
The event was organized by the hospital and supported by the city of Plano, which promoted the event and sent some employees to participate.
