Plano ISD is experiencing a districtwide increase in students opting for face-to-face instruction for the second half of the semester, according to data released Oct. 7.
Families were given the option to change their learning method at the end of September, per Texas Education Agency requirements. Just over half of students have chosen to attend school in person, which is a 4% increase from the first nine weeks, while 49% of students have chosen to attend virtually, according to data.
Barron and Hughston elementary schools will have the highest levels of face-to-face instruction at elementary campuses in the coming weeks, both with nearly two-thirds of enrolled students returning to classrooms. Skaggs has the least amount of students signed up for in-person learning at 26%.
At the middle school level, Haggard has the most students returning for face-to-face instruction, with 66% of students choosing this method. At the other end of the spectrum, Rice Middle School has only 28% of students attending in-person.
