On Tuesday night Plano ISD board of trustees green-lighted a series of roofing projects at 10 schools across the district. The board approved construction managers for nine of the 10 roofing projects. The roofing project at Hughston Elementary School has been completed, and the board approved final acceptance and closeout documents at tonight’s meeting. The roofing projects will occur at Brinker Elementary School, Daffron Elementary School, Hightower Elementary School, McCall Elementary School, Miller Elementary School, Wilson Middle School, Clark High School, Beaty Early Childhood School and Pearson Early Childhood School. These projects, including the completed repairs at Hughston Elementary School, are expected to cost the district roughly $5.6 million. Funding for the repairs will come from a combination of insurance proceeds, 2008 bond funds, capital projects fund and operating funds, according to district documents.
